Accessibility

People often reach this site tired, stressed or on an old phone with a poor signal. It is built for that.

What we aim for

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. In practice that means:

  • Every page works with the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
  • Semantic headings and landmarks, and a skip link to the main content
  • Text contrast tested against AA thresholds, and no meaning carried by colour alone
  • Text resizes to 200% without breaking the layout, and reflows to narrow screens
  • Animation is disabled automatically when your device asks for reduced motion
  • Form fields have real labels, hints and error messages announced to screen readers
  • No pop-ups, interstitials, auto-playing media or content that hijacks scrolling
  • Pages are lightweight and load quickly on a slow mobile connection

Known limits

Some third-party sites we link to are outside our control and may be less accessible than this one. The self-check requires JavaScript to score; if you have it turned off, the questions are still readable and we will happily go through them with you by phone.

Tell us about a barrier

If any part of this site is hard to use, email hello@ukgamblinghelp.co.uk Tell us the page and what went wrong. We aim to reply within five working days and to fix genuine barriers as a priority. We can also provide any page as large print or plain text on request.

one small step

A 20-minute call, and no pressure at the end of it.

We will listen, tell you plainly what your options are — including the free NHS and charity routes — and leave the decision entirely with you.
