About UK Gambling Help
An independent UK support and information service for gambling harm, established in 2026. No gambling money, no advertising, no affiliate links.
Why this exists
Search for help with gambling in the UK and a good share of what comes back is published by the industry itself, or by affiliates paid a commission for every account opened. That is a poor place to start when you are frightened about money and cannot say it out loud yet.
UK Gambling Help was set up in 2026 to be the opposite: a plain, calm, independent starting point. We explain how gambling products are built, what treatment actually involves, and which free UK services are worth your first phone call — then we help you take the next step, whether or not that step involves us.
What we do
- Free, practical guides on gambling harm, treatment and recovery, written for people in the middle of it
- A private self-check that scores in your browser and sends nothing anywhere
- An independent, non-commercial directory of UK support
- A free 20-minute intake call, and structured therapy programmes for those who want them
- Support for partners and families in their own right, not as an add-on
Our funding, plainly
We are funded entirely by fees from our own private therapy sessions. We take no money, advertising, sponsorship, commission or referral fee from gambling operators, affiliates, comparison sites or lenders, and we never will. There are no gambling adverts anywhere on this website.
Editorial standards
- Written in-house by our practitioners; nothing is bought in or spun
- Every page reviewed at least twice a year
- Claims kept to what UK services and published research actually support
- No guarantees of outcome, ever — recovery is not a product
- Corrections made openly when we get something wrong
Who we are for
Adults aged 18 and over, living in the United Kingdom, who are worried about their own gambling — and the partners, parents, adult children and friends carrying it with them. If you are under 18, please speak to a trusted adult and contact Childline on 0800 1111, which is free and confidential.
Things we will never do
- Publish gambling advertising, affiliate links, bonus offers or operator reviews
- Sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing
- Cold-call you, or keep contacting you after you ask us to stop
- Charge for information, or for pointing you towards free NHS and charity help
- Promise a cure, a success rate, or a guaranteed outcome
- Host public comments, forums or user-submitted content on this site
